A stunning set of junior results for the club with cup and county successes

The continued development and strength of the club's junior section was epitomised by a series of brilliant successes last Sunday.

Firstly, the Boys u14s (pictured) reached the Tier 1 Plate Semi-Final with an 8-1 victory over Brooklands. After dispatching Wakefield in the previous round, the Boys were delighted to record the scalp of another National League club.

The Boys took an early lead through Ethan Frost and by half time were 4-0 up and in control of the tie. A fifth goal was added early in the second half, before Brooklands pulled one back with a superb reverse stick finish.

The outcome of the tie though was never in doubt with three further goals added with both George Croxon and Matt Smith joining the scorers. The Boys host Trojans in the semi-finals, the first time the club has ever had a successful run at Tier 1 level.

The Girls u14s meanwhile continued their superb season with a 6-1 victory over Stokesley at NULS to reach the Tier 2 National Cup Semi-Finals. Three first half goals by talismanic Isobel Donlon put North Staffs in control, whilst two further strikes by Ava Wragg meant that the Girls led 5-1 at the break.

A tighter second half followed with more cards than goals, but the girls cruised through to their first National Semi-Final as 6-1 winners. They travel to Khalsa on 17th March as they hope to reach the National Finals.

The Boys u16s were also in action at NULS and progressed to round 2 of the Tier 1 Vase. After losing 2-1 to Rugby & East Warwickshire earlier in the season in the Supra-Leagues, the Boys u16s were after revenge and they booked their place in the next round thanks to a 4-1 win.

Theo Abel opened the scoring to make it 1-0 at half time, before second half goals from Ewan MacPherson, Matt Devine and Arun White sealed the victory. The Boys u16s travel to Bath in the next round.

The action continued as Stone hosted the Boys u12s and Girls u12s Staffordshire Championships. The club fielded two Boys teams, the B team finishing in fifth place and the A team qualifying for the Midlands Finals as runners-up.

Convincing group stage wins against Cannock & Lichfield saw the boys through to the semi-finals, where they beat hosts Stone 2-0. In the final, the boys led 1-0 for much of the game before a final play short corner saw Leek level. The boys were then beaten on penalty strokes but progress to the Midlands Finals nonetheless.

They will be joined there by the Girls u12s who finished as runners-up in the Staffordshire Championships behind Lichfield. The Girls suffered a narrow loss to Lichfield in their opening game, before comfortably beating all the other teams to secure their qualification.

The Boys u10s and Girls u10s had already qualified for the Midlands Finals, making it the first time in the club's history that all four sides have reached the Midlands Finals. Well done to all involved.

An exciting rest of the season lies ahead and it is brilliant to continue to see the successes of our junior section.
